Distrito Federal

Distrito Federal Map

A map of Distrito Federal, showing where it is in Brazil

Distrito Federal or the Federal District is not a state but an administritive area purposefully created to house the capital of Brazil, Brasilia. The workers and representatives of the Brazilian federal government make up a large portion of the population. It is a very structured city, built throughout the 20th century, however, there is some overpopulation. Winter is the dry season in the area, one of only two real seasons that occur. The humidity is always at an extreme level. The capital of Brazil moved here from Rio de Janeiro.
