Thanks to the range of climates across France, a variety of animals live and thrive across the country. Some of the more amazing examples include wolves, bears and lynx. All three of these animals are extremely rare but do exist in areas where they have been protected or reintroduced. This is the Alps for wolves and Pyrenees for bears. Another rare but very different animal that exists in France are wild hamsters, which live in the Rhine valley.

Many of the more unique animals in France are limited to small areas such as the aforementioned bear or wolf. The more common animals are less unique; foxes, cows, deer can be found across the country. A large area of land is devoted to farming across the country leading to the domination of human bred animals. Farming earns money for many people in France.
