Welsh Tales from the Mabinogion:
The Tale of Oringle
Once upon a time, in the vast and mystical lands surrounding King Arthur's kingdom, there lived a wicked knight named Oringle. Oringle was known far and wide for his cruelty and greed. He ruled over a dark and imposing castle, high on a hill, where he plotted his wicked schemes to gain power and wealth.

Oringle’s castle was surrounded by thick, thorny woods that seemed to echo with the cries of those who had dared to oppose him. The people of the nearby villages lived in fear, knowing that Oringle would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. His reputation as a fearsome and unkind knight spread throughout the land.
One fateful day, Oringle heard of a beautiful maiden named Enid, who was traveling with her brave husband, Sir Geraint, a noble knight of King Arthur’s court. Oringle saw an opportunity to seize more power by capturing Enid and defeating Geraint. He devised a plan to trap them in his castle.
As Geraint and Enid journeyed through the dark forest, they stumbled upon Oringle’s territory. The wicked knight sent his men to ambush them, capturing Enid and bringing her to his castle. Geraint, determined to rescue his beloved wife, followed closely, ready to face whatever dangers lay ahead.

When Geraint reached the castle, he saw Oringle standing proudly at the gates, his menacing armor glinting in the dim light. Oringle laughed wickedly, thinking Geraint would be an easy opponent. He challenged Geraint to a duel, confident in his victory.
The battle was fierce, with swords clashing and sparks flying. Oringle fought with all his might, but he underestimated Geraint’s skill and determination. Despite his wickedness, Oringle could not match the bravery and strength of a knight whose heart was pure and whose love for Enid was unwavering.
As the fight raged on, Geraint struck a powerful blow, knocking Oringle to the ground. The wicked knight, realizing he was defeated, begged for mercy. But Geraint, knowing the harm Oringle had caused to so many, decided it was time to put an end to his tyranny.

With Oringle defeated, Geraint freed Enid from the castle. The villagers, hearing of Oringle’s downfall, celebrated their newfound freedom. They rejoiced, knowing that the days of living in fear were over. Geraint and Enid continued their journey, their bond even stronger after overcoming such a great challenge.

Oringle’s dark castle, once a symbol of fear, was abandoned and soon overtaken by the very forest it had once loomed over. Nature reclaimed the land, and peace returned to the region. The tale of Geraint’s bravery and the wicked knight Oringle’s defeat spread far and wide, reminding everyone that courage and love could conquer even the darkest of evils.
