The Rocky Mountains

The Canadian Rockies comprise the Canadian segment of the North American Rocky Mountains (which continues south into the United States). The Rockies run along the Eastern border of British Columbia, separating the province from its neighbour Alberta.

Driving through the Rockies from Calgary to Vancouver is a wonderful drive. You spend most of your time in National Parks (Banff in Alberta and Yoho in BC) so there's lots of nature to see and development is restricted. If you aren't too sure about driving yourself through the mountains, you can take the train instead (lots of fun during the winter months)!
