Goats: Angora Goats

Angora goats are another breed of domestic goat that is kept on farms all around the world. These goats are best known for being the softest and most fluffy goats in the world. They are often kept on farms for their hair which is called mohair. Mohair can be turned into many different things, including, socks, scarves, sweaters, coats, furnishings, and even a fancy suit!

Since angora goats spend so much energy growing their long and comfortable coat they have very high dietary needs. In fact, if these goats do not get enough food or get the right kinds of food their hair will slow growing and start to curl!

Angora goats can come in a variety of colours including white, brown, grey, black, red, and even silver! These goats have floppy ears and curved horns. The largest angora goats can grow to roughly 150 pounds- now that's a big goat!
