Horses: Teeth
Horses have teeth that are specifically made for grazing. And interestingly, horse teeth are a common area chosen when determining a horse's age! All the chewing and grinding of the different types of food that they come across is not necessarily an easy task.
Female horses have 36 teeth: 12 incisors for biting off blades of grass and 24 molars at the back of their mouths and lower jaw that they use to grind up their food. Male horses have four extra "canine" (long, pointy) teeth called tushes behind their 12 incisors.
A sad fact about horses is that when they are unhappy with their social environments, they can pick up "bad habits." Some horses will chew on wood for hours with their teeth due to stress, agitation, not enough stimulation, and so on.
