Inner Mongolia is beyond the Great Wall of China and on the fringes of the Gobi Desert. The province has a better relationship with the country Mongolia than China itself. Nomadic people traditionally roam the plains as it is hot in summer and extremely cold in the winter. The most populous area is in the South of the province in the loop of the Yellow River. The capital is Hohhot, the province has a 50 percent urban population and the biggest industry is agriculture.
